Adrian and Ray Porter have dedicated their lives to fending off the demons that claw their way into our world through a thin spot: a hellish and lifeless place with a black lake at its center, infamously known as "The Gore Point." However, as the rifts begin to alter and expand for the first time in decades, can they prevent the planet from becoming Hell itself?
Adrian and his talented brother Ray work for Brigade One, in the fortified city of Fortune on the outskirts of the Gore Point. Like their father before them, it is the Porters' duty to protect the citizens from the creatures that emerge from the rifts opening within the dead zone.
The origins and nature of the Gore Point remain a mystery. It cannot be eradicated or closed. The Brigades can only offer temporary relief. Demons have always come through, and the only solution is to slaughter them upon arrival.
Nowadays, few people perish from the spawn that infiltrate Fortune from its decaying center, although as children, Ray and Adrian vividly recall witnessing their father do precisely that. However, something has always struck the intellectual Adrian as peculiar about that day. The creature that killed their father (a colossal red beast known as a hellbringer) was not supposed to be there. Adrian suspects there is more to the simplicity of modern riftfare than meets the eye, but the stubborn, showboating Ray believes he is delusional.
Until one day, when the rifts suddenly and inexplicably change. It begins to appear as if Hell has been biding its time to lull us into a false sense of security, with the aid of a saboteur on the inside.
Gore Point is a "horror thriller": a tale about demons from Hell and the human corruption behind their ascent.
